Backyard Chicken Starter Kit
Box and Packaging
This hand-made wooden box housed all of the items that make up the kit. The box is rather large but works as a place to house baby chicks while they grow, or even keep a sick chicken that needs to be quarantined.
When a customer opens the box, they will find all the items housed in wood shavings – a very common bedding used inside of chicken coops. Every item includes a label that is part of the entire visual system and contains information about what it is and how to use it.
Contents
Included in the kit are basic items every chicken-keeper would need. A care kit with items for dealing with an injured chicken and boosting the health of your flock. A small feeder and waterer are included with foods to help familiarize owners with the types of feed chickens will need. A broom and dustpan are a tried and true way to clean the coop. Finally, a fancy egg carton not only echos the identity of the kit, but gets owners excited to show off their eggs.
Booklet
Included with every kit is a unique, hexagonal booklet that includes basic information about owning chickens including the difference between adults and baby chicks, different types of breeds, coops, directions for wing trimming, and a glossary. The booklet lays completely flat and allows the user to flip to a certain page and view the information while perhaps doing something tricky, like clipping wings for the first time.
